Jeanne Mayer Patterson

Jeanne Mayer Patterson, 80, of McKenney, VA, passed away Monday, February 22, 2016. The daughter of the late Charles Alexander and Jeannette Howe Mayer, Jeanne was raised on a farm in Dinwiddie County and had a lifelong love for flower and vegetable gardening, and canning. She operated The Little Greenhouse in McKenney for 32 years, where she enjoyed selling flowers and plants that she grew from seeds. She was an active member of The Church of the Good Shepherd and always willing to help with various church activities. Mrs. Patterson is survived by her husband, William Henry Patterson, Jr.; daughter, Ann Patterson Witt and husband, Marshall; grandchildren, Dr. Jeffrey R. Witt, and Megan Witt Krenicky and husband, Brandon; great-grandchildren, Emerson Blake Krenicky and Kinsley Brooke Krenicky; brothers, Charles Mayer and wife, Dorothy, and Robert Mayer and wife, Ruth, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Crater Community Hospice for their care and support. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 26, 2016 at The Church of the Good Shepherd with The Reverend John D. Willard, V, Rector, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 6616 Boydton Plank Road, N. Dinwiddie.
