Jeannetta Byrd Conner

Jeannetta Byrd Conner, 91, of Carson, VA, and a former longtime resident of South Richmond, died Tuesday, September 5, 2017. She was one of 11 children born to the late William George and Evelyn Davis Norford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Coley Conner, and her son-in-law, Fred Ratliff. A former employee of DuPont, Mrs. Conner was very proud of the many years she played softball on the company team. She later retired from American Tobacco Company. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Bukoski-Ratliff; son, David Conner and wife, Donna; grandchildren, Tracy Ruffner and husband, Dennis, Chris Bukoski, Rachel Conner, and Brandie Conner; great-grandchildren, Ashley Gibbons and husband, Ryan, and Alex Ruffner; sister, Elizabeth Yeatts; brother, Raymond Norford and wife, Mary, as well as numerous nieces and nephews including a devoted niece, Bonnie King. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 8, 2017 at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Washington Memorial Park, Sandston, VA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
