Jeneva St. Clair Tench, 91, of Petersburg, passed away Friday May 23, 2008. She was predeceased by her husband Nelson Leon Tench, parents: Solomon C.B. & Eula White St. Clair, sisters; Leona Bonjonia, Imo Tyler, Virginia Norman, Mary Whitmore, Mirla Bonjonia, Gloria Matthews, Pauline Fletcher, & Shirley Burnett. Mrs. Tench was a long time member of Second Baptist Church where she served as Treasurer of Ruth Bethany Sunday School Class, President of Lockett/Uzzle Circle, served on the Deacon Board, took charge in the church kitchen, served many a meal. She was also a chartered member of the 39ERS Senior Citizens Support Group at Second Baptist Church and remained actively involved throughout the years. She retired from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company in 1980 after serving 38 ½ years of faithful and dedicated service. She is survived by her sisters; Juanita Wheeler & husband Jack, Lucille Caniff & husband Floyd all of Bedford County, devoted nephew; Berkeley Matthews & wife Margie of Chester, devoted niece; Beverly Hudson & husband Garland of Richmond, great-great niece; Nikki Hall of Chester, dedicated friends, Duty & Theresa Hicks, of Petersburg, Helen Taylor of Colonial Heights, many other nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends Monday May 26, 6 to 8 PM at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T.Morriss & Son Funeral home where a funeral service will be held Tuesday May 27 at 10: AM with the Rev. Joe Lewis of Second Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Southlawn Memorial Park in Prince George County. Condolences may be registered at
