Jenny Blaha Jones, of Colonial Heights, departed this life into eternal rest on February 18, 2024, in Prince George County, Virginia, where she entered this life on Rives Road March 13, 1940. Attended Carson Elementary, class of 1957 Dinwiddie High School, and 1967 Richmond Professional Institute. She was employed in the private sector with Allied Chemical, and Pepsi Cola Company for nine years, and worked with several Federal Government Agencies for 27 years: Department of the Army, Department of Defense, Defense Logistics Agency as Chief Resource Management Branch, and positions as Program/Budget/Management Analyst. Jenny was a lifelong resident of this area except while residing and working in Europe. Her Government Service included Fort Lee 16 years, Germany and Italy for 7 years before retiring from Bellwood 1993. During her employment in Europe, she enjoyed extensive traveling to many Countries in Europe, and visited Russia, and South America several times. She was the Manager for a Homeowners Association 1995-2017, She enjoyed philanthropy and participated in many activities, and enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and maintaining her homes.

Jenny was preceded in death by her only son in 1990, Kevin Scott Jones. She was the eldest child of Louis John Sr. and Theresa Vinsh Blaha. Her maternal grandparents were Barta Joseph and Antonia Mizera Vinsh, and paternal grandparents, James Vaclav and Barbara Mach Blaha. Siblings, Louis John Blaha, Jr., Rosemarie DiMantova, and Lucille Moran.

She is survived by her beloved and devoted daughter, Cheryl Bales, RN; favorite son-in-law, Jeffrey; grandchildren Maria, Ryan and Christopher; nephews, Thomas and Brian Dimantova and niece, Courtney Baltos and their families. Many cousins, and life friends, Carol McCall, Sandra Faria, and high school friend, Jean Hamner Morgan; and her devoted companion pet poodle, Junie-B. She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, and friend, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Jenny was a member of Prince George; Dinwiddie; and Chesterfield Heritage Societies; Blaha Reunion Committee Treasurer since 2009; Czechoslovak Society of Arts & Sciences (SVU) 2006-present and attended the International World Conference in the Czech Republic 2006; Virginia Czech/Slovak Heritage Society 2004-2021; Virginia Czech & Slovak Folklife Festival Committee 2013-present and the Czech Singers Group; and maintained her family genealogy heritage. Also Bellwood Management Development Assoc 1985-1989; Fort Lee EEO Advisory Group Representative 1978-1982; Fort Lee Federal Credit Union Board member 1975, American Society of Military Comptrollers 1974-1989; Notary Public for Commonwealth of Virginia 1972-1985; Fort Lee Toastmasters Organization 1978; Fort Lee Officers and Civilian Club 1975-1982; Federally Employed Women Organization 1975-1982 VP & Treasurer, and presented guests Senator John Warner and Elizabeth Taylor Warner mementos 1978; National Active & Retired Federal Employees Assoc 1993-2018; American Volksport Association Lee Lepus Volksmarch Club 1985-2021; International Volksport Association 1982-1985; Stuttgart GE International Kontak Friendship Club 1982-1985; Compassionate Friends 1990-2021; Women of the Moose Hopewell 1988-1993.

Jenny volunteered for the State Board of Elections Chesterfield County 2002-2003; Commonwealth Girl Scouts Registered Leader Troop 74, 1969 & 1972; BSA Pack 160 Den Mother 1972-1974; Boy Scouts of America Troop 162 Board Member 1974-1978, and was the mother of an Eagle Scout, and a Girl Scout; National Multiple Sclerosis Society Community Block Chairperson 1979; Mothers Against Drunk Drivers 1990-2021 and volunteered representing MADD at local surrounding schools Health Fairs.

Jenny also received Honors/Awards: she was interviewed 2006 by Radio Prague while attending the 23rd World Congress of the Czechoslovak Society of Arts and Science at Ceske Budejovice in Czech Republic web http://www.radio.cz/en/article/80659 . Also honored by Hopewell Recreation & Parks Community Center publication Senior Trumpeter Spotlight 2002, and Hopewell Community Center Seniors Group Treasurer 1995-2008. She received numerous Letters of Appreciation for her volunteer work and Letters of Commendation with Endorsements from Commanders and Generals during her Government employment positions in USA and Europe.

A memorial Mass will be held at Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, the 26th of February 2024. Following the service the family will hold a private ceremony at graveside. A private family gathering will be held at her daughter and son-in-law home in North Prince George to celebrate Jenny's life.
