Jerry Hart Flowers

Jerry Hart Flowers, 71, of Petersburg, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015. Born in Mecklenburg County, VA, he was the son of the late William Daily and Eula May Strange Flowers. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Jerry worked in the insurance business for over 20 years, and spent the remainder of his career as a hearing aid specialist with Beltone. He loved softball and played for 25 years with many teams in the tri-cities area. He also enjoyed playing golf and helping people whenever he could. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. Jerry is survived by his wife of 48 years, Diane Flowers; daughter, Jeri-Ann Tomlin and husband, Billy; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Tomlin, Shane Tomlin, and Brandon Tomlin; great-granddaughters, Hallie Tomlin and McKayla Brown; sister-in-law, Evelyn Flowers, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members to include, Lou and Lois Sprouse, Tammy Banton, Brett and R.J. Banton, Randy Banton, Melody and Steve Eilert, Brad Eilert, Chad Eilert, Stephanie Earley, Karey Kanak, Edith Briggs, and Jessica Briggs. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2015 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home followed by a time of visitation with the family.
