Jerry Lee Gay

Jerry Lee Gay, 75, of Prince George, VA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 5, 2023. Born in Petersburg, Virginia, he was the son of the late John W. and Annie Lee Pearson Gay. Jerry is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Linda Harrison Gay; daughters, Tonya and husband, William Humphrey, of Disputanta, Sherry and husband, Tim Bahre, of Fredericksburg; grandchildren, Nicky, Kayleigh, Brandon, Zachary, Abby, Katie, and Jacob; and brother, John and wife, Melva, of Leeland, NC.

After graduating from Colonial Heights High School in 1965, Jerry received a Bachelors of Science in Finance from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1969, and worked as a hospital comptroller for over 30 years. For the past ten years, he has volunteered as a kindergarten teacher for the children's ministry of The Heights Baptist Church. He also enjoyed volunteering at the Crater Community Hospice Thrift Shop. Jerry was always quick to help anyone in need and even quicker with a joke to make everyone smile. He was idolized by his two girls and adored by all of his grandchildren. His love and light will be missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 11, 2023, at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home Petersburg Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel. Interment will follow in Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery, in Church Road, VA.
