Jerry Douglas Gleason, Sr.

Jerry Douglas Gleason, Sr., 75 of Hopewell went to be with the Lord on Feb. 18, 2019 at John Randolph Hospital. His parents, Ruby & Douglas Gleason and his brother Roy T. Gleason preceded him in death. His loving and devoted wife, Kaye Gleason, survives him. He is also survived by his children, daughters Teresa Gleason Coggins (Phil) of Chesterfield, Kristie Powers (Brian) of Dinwiddie; sons Jerry Douglas Gleason, Jr, Roger Colby (Margie), Timmy Colby (Kim) all of Chesterfield, and Joey Colby (Roxanne) of Chesapeake; and grandchildren Mary, Caroline, Taylor, Shay, Jessica, Blake, Meagan, Tori, Kaylee, and Logan; one brother, Milton R Gleason (Marilyn); one sister, Jewel G Powers all of Prince George; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Gleason was a lifelong resident of Hopewell. He retired from UPS after 25 years of service and was a member of TJC 83 of Virginia Teamsters Union. He was a member of the New Jerusalem Fellowship Church. He enjoyed fishing, UVA sports, NASCAR, playing guitar and singing with his brothers. His favorite past time was spending time with his grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the Hopewell chapel of JT Morriss & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Dean officiating.
