Jerry Lewis Helton

Jerry Lewis “Hawk” Helton, 73, of Prince George, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 13, 2013. A native of Evansville, IL, he served in the U.S. Air Force for six years and enjoyed a long career in civil service at Defense General Supply Center. Jerry was an avid golfer and huge sports fan, especially of the VCU Rams. He attended Colonial Heights Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cecilia Helton; son, Glen Hearns and wife, Cheryl; step-mother, Linda Helton; cousins, Cecile Hance, Mike Nepote, Leanna Bankston, Vickie Bolton, and Robie Stanley. A funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Monday, November 18th at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. The family will receive friends following the service until 6:30 p.m. Interment will be private.
