Jerry Mathias Myers, 65 of Tucson, Arizona, formerly of Petersburg, Virginia died on January 5, 2005. Mr. Myers was the son of the late George Mathias Myers and Evelyn Virginia Hodgekiss Myers. Mr. Myers was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio, and raised in Prince George County, VA. He graduated from Prince George High School in 1957. He was active in all aspects of high school life and played football, basketball and baseball. Upon graduation from Prince George, Mr. Myers attended Virginia Military Institute and received his degree in Civil Engineering in 1961. Mr. Myers graduated as a Distinguished Military graduate and was number two in the Keydet Corps at VMI. After graduation, Mr. Myers served in the United States Air Force as an officer and then worked for General Electric in New York City. He returned to Tucson and attended the University of Arizona Law School and graduated in 1968. Mr. Myers practiced Law in Tucson for over 35 years. Mr. Myers was a member of the Tucson City Council from 1972-1974. He was a Republican and enjoyed hunting, fishing, scuba diving, and flying. He was an avid fan of the University of Arizona Wildcats. Surviving are two brothers, Dr. George Rodney Myers of Scranton, PA and Dennis Keith Myers and wife, Connie of Petersburg, VA.; one niece, Dr. Robin M. Fergueson and husband, Kyle of Reno, NV.
