Jerry Lee Pardew

Jerry Lee Pardew, of Hopewell, VA, died Sunday, June 11, 2023, at the age of 84. Born on February 7, 1939, in Hiawatha, WV, Jerry was the son of Earl C. Pardew and Clara Woolwine-Pardew. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shelia Gaye; brothers, Lawrence Pardew, Benny Pardew, James Pardew, and Kenneth "Skip" Pardew; and sisters, Louise Pardew-Beckett, Myrtle Chess, and Shirley Clark.
Jerry is survived by his chosen family, Jennifer Taylor Shaffer, Doye O'Brian, and Kenneth Parker; his daughters; Stacie Pardew Ellington and Jeri L. Pardew; along with six grandchildren, bonus grandbabies he claimed to be his own; and his sweet angel, Abigail.
Once graduating Matoaca High School, Jerry enlisted in the United Stated Navy where he proudly served four years for his country. He then settled in Hopewell, VA, where he married his one and only Shelia Gaye. After retiring from Honeywell, Jerry devoted much of his time to his family. Whenever he wasn't taking care of others, you could find him at the clubhouse with his brothers hunting or fishing, catch a glimpse of him on an evening scroll across town, or find "The Bear "cutting up at P2. He was a riot!
As Jerry prepared for his next ride, he often reminisced of memories with everyone he had come to know, and love from a stranger down the street, to lifelong friends to family near and far. We are so fortunate to have called Jerry our own, may the memories never be forgotten. We'll miss that sense of humor, quick wit, and most of all, those daily reminders of his drop-dead gorgeous looks.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home (820 W Broadway, Hopewell, VA 23860). A funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M, on Friday, June 16, 2023, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Appomattox Cemetery, (701 N 21st Ave, Hopewell, Va, 23860).
