Jesse Newton Johnston

Jesse Newton Johnston, 72, of Disputanta departed this life on April 1, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father, William G. Johnston, Sr.; mother, Mabel McGraw Johnston; and sister, Joann Delores Johnston. He is survived by his brother, William G. Johnston, Jr.; five nephews, one niece, and his loyal canine companion, Rex. Jesse worked at a variety of professions most notably as a tractor trailer driver and a carpenter for Johnston Controls at Fort Lee, Virginia before his retirement. Jesse will be remembered by those closest to him for his generosity and how their lives were enriched by his friendship. Jesse said that he had a good long life and for those closest to him, it was an honor being part of his life. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Sunset View Cemetery in Bozoo, West Virginia. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
