Jesse Francis Rowland

Jesse Francis Rowland, 88, went to be with the Lord on December 22, 2023. He was born in Dinwiddie County, the son of the late Leland and Laura Rowland. He is also preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia Rowland; his brothers, Lee "Sonny" and John; and his sisters, Rebecca and Margaret "Teeny." He served his country dutifully in the U.S. Army and loved to teach children and adults alike. He is survived by his son, Mark Rowland (Karen); his daughter, Debbie Bumgarner (Tony); his grandchildren, Jacob Rowland, Chris Bumgarner (Aaron), Kelly Revels (John), Jeff Bumgarner (Alexis); his great-grandchildren, Addie, Elizabeth, River, Harvest, Laken, and Luke; his siblings, Barbara Thomason, Libby Watson, and Larry Rowland (Karla); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for contributions to be made to Ford Volunteer Fire Department at 13402 Cox Rd, Church Road VA, 23833 and to Wade Community Fire Department at 7130 Powell St, Wade NC 28395.
