Jewel Anne Blowe Wiley, affectionately called "Grand Jewel" by her adoring grandchildren, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, February 13, 2007. She was reunited for Valentine's Day with her beloved husband, William Carlton Wiley who preceded her in death in March 23, 2000. Having been a retired elementary school teacher from Boykins, Virginia, Jewel had enjoyed much of her recent retirement in Arizona with her family there. She is survived by her son, Gene A. Taylor, Jr. of Phoenix; and her four grandchildren, Alexandra, Elizabeth Ann, William and Olivia and their mother, Karrin. The daughter the late James Carlton â??Buckâ? and Lillian Deloache Blowe is also survived by the Charles and Carol Landen family of Chesterfield, Virginia, the Wilson and Joanne Barnes, Jr. family of Suffolk, Virginia, the families of Ralph Blowe Jr., Joan and John King, Farrell and Bobby Rawls, Margaret Browning, Ruth and Jack Boyer, Sue and Charles Brown and Bobbie and the late Quinn Taylor all of North Carolina, the families of Olga Gause, Nina Spell, Sheldon Bennett and Bill Bennett all of South Carolina; the Carson Brown family of Mathis, Texas as well as many other family members in Virginia and the Carolinaâ??s. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 7-8:30 pm Tuesday, February 20th at The Boykins Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday February 21st also at the church. A graveside service will follow at Beechwood Cemetery where Jewel will be buried alongside her beloved husband Carlton. Jewelâ??s family encourages memorial gifts either to the Boykins Baptist Church or the Boykins Volunteer Fire Department.
