Jo Madison

Kathryn Jo Keeter Madison, age 86, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2011. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Randolph Madison, Jr. Mrs. Madison is also survived by two daughters, Kathryn Madison Carter (Ryan) of Weddington, NC and Mary Randolph Madison Massey (Rick) of Prince George, VA; grandchildren, Kate Carter McCorison (Matthew) of Midlothian, VA, Carolyn Madison Carter of Weddington, NC, Sarah Massey of Hopewell, VA, and Monica Massey Rodriquez (Anthony) of Union, NJ; sister, Eoline Keeter Hord of Kings Mountain, NC; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Taylor and Martha Lee Romaine, both of Petersburg, VA; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Byron and Mary Keeter of Kings Mountain, NC. Jo was a native of Kings Mountain, NC, graduated from Mars Hill College and RPI (now VCU), and moved to Petersburg to teach distributive education at Petersburg High School. After leaving teaching, her professional career included being the first personnel director at Rucker-Rosenstock Department Store, the first registrar at Richard Bland College, and working for the Petersburg Department of Tourism. She was an active member in her community and churches, Tabb Street Presbyterian and New Venture Christian Fellowship. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 12 p.m. in the Petersburg chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home with interment following in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions are made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association (LBDA) at 912 Killian Hill Rd. SW Lilburn, GA 30047.
