Joan Carol Keener

Joan Carol Keener, 70, of Dinwiddie, passed away Monday, December 15, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Louise Walter McNeil, and her husband, Wilburn Keener. Joan loved taking care of her many plants and enjoyed the company of her cat, Nikki. She is survived by her son, Joey Keener and wife Karla; granddaughter, Allyson C. Keener; brother, Ernest Lee McNeil and wife, Trisha; sisters, Shelia Thurston and husband, Robert, Sharon Powell and husband, Charlie, Cindy Thompson and husband, Billy; dedicated aides, Candy Smith and Diana Tucker; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
