Joann Mcconnell

Joann McConnell, 72, passed away on October 22, 2016. Joann was born on November 30, 1943 to Corbett and Gladys Harvey. She is survived by her faithful husband of 53 years, Glen McConnell; her 6 children, Rita, Rhonda, Glenda, John, Joyce and Tonia; as well as thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Her joy has begun. She was a faithful and loving wife and an amazing mother who loved her family deeply and continuously spoke God’s truth into our lives. She was a woman of great faith who loved God with all her heart, a woman of strength, a woman who never gave up. She fought a good fight, loved abundantly, and had an unbelievable positive attitude. We will always remember the games she played with us, the whimsical side of her that encouraged our creativity and wonderment in life, her sewing, her cooking, long conversations with her as she listened with a nonjudgmental heart and encouraged us, and her constant prayers as she lifted us up in prayer before God. Her faith was amazingly strong. Her spirit was beautiful. We will always love her and thank God for the gift of her in our lives. A Celebration of Joann’s life will be held at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with interment to follow in Bermuda Memorial Park.
