JoAnne Hayes Thomas of Prince George, passed away on July 6, 2012. She was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Flagler Hayes James; father, Rupert Paul Hayes; and stepfather, W.R. James. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Paul Boothe Thomas, Sr. She was a loving mother and grandmother to her son, Paul Boothe Thomas, Jr. (Luree) of Waverly, her daughter, Rebecca Thomas Drury (Frank) of Prince George; five grandchildren, Blake and Will Thomas, Todd Drury (Christina), Stacy L. Maddox (Stacy R.), and Tracy Drury; and three great-grandchildren, Christian Drury, Brandon and Brooklynn Maddox. She also cherished her three sisters, Lee Hayes and Pat Frantz of Chester, and Nancy Peterson (Alan) of Williamsburg; nieces and nephews, Julie and Stephanie Peterson, and Derek and Daniel Frantz; and many other loving family members. She will be greatly missed. Born and raised in Chesterfield Co., VA, she was a graduate of Thomas Dale High School. She retired from Defense General Supply Center after many years of service. She was a life long member of Enon Baptist Church and served as church clerk for many years. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Michael Moore, officiating. Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park, Enon.
