Joe Edgar Bishop

CWO (retired) Joe Edgar Bishop, 84, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2022. He was born in Lynchburg, Virginia to Clifton and Mary "Coconut" Bishop, and attended Norview High School graduating class of 1956. A career Army officer, Mr. Bishop served three combat tours in Vietnam and was awarded three Bronze Stars, one for valor. His military assignments include Germany, Thailand, Alaska, North Carolina, Alabama, Colorado, and Virginia. Mr. Bishop retired and settled in the Prince George County, Virginia area. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marilynn Bishop; brother, James Bishop; daughters, Anita, Glenda, Pamela, Kimberly, and Huong; son, Joe; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and extended family. He was a devoted father, husband, son, brother, friend and American, and will be missed by all. Family will accept visitors at 9:00 a.m., with funeral services starting at 10:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Baptist Church on February 18th, 2022. He will be laid to rest at Albert G.
