John Harden Biggs, 92, of Dinwiddie, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014. Born in Cheraw, SC, he was the son of the late Thomas Luther Biggs, Sr. and Allie Bittle Biggs. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Lois Elizabeth Biggs, a daughter, Carol Biggs Haynes; brothers, Thomas Luther Biggs, Jr. and wife, Janice, and James Albert Biggs; sisters, Ellen Elizabeth Tosh and husband, Glenn, and Espra Elsie Biggs. Mr. Biggs served in the United States Army during World War II and retired from C & P Telephone Company after 43 years of service. He was a member of Second Baptist Church. Mr. Biggs is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Davis and her husband Danny; three grandchildren, Jennifer Capps and her husband, Brandon, Ty Haynes and his wife, Melissa, and Christopher Davis and his wife, Allison; six great-grandchildren, Kayla, Caden, Ella Marie, Colby, Connor, and Collins, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday at Blandford Cemetery.
