John Robert Blaha, 74 of Colonial Heights, died Tuesday May 17, 2005. He was the son of the late Joseph John and Anna Cizler Blaha. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Joseph Blaha and two sisters, Anna Hanzlik and Helen Lisson. He was a member of the VFW Post 2239. He was Commander of the Post for two years. He was a life member serving for 25 years. He was a member of the Colonial Heights Moose Lodge 1783. He was a past Governor and a member of the Fellowship Degree, serving for 22 years. He was the retired owner of the former Southside Air Conditioning and Roofing. He is survived by his wife, Marion Carroll Blaha of Colonial Heights; two daughters, Kathy Blaha Dailey and husband Donald and Paige Blaha Stirrup all of Colonial Heights; son, John Robert Blaha, Jr. and wife Amy of Colonial Heights; stepson, Harry Alfred Simmons, Jr. and wife Michelle of Alea Hawaii; sister, Frances Blanchard of New Mexico; brother, Matyas John Cizler and wife Margaret of Petersburg; nine grandchildren, D. Quentin Dailey, Jr., Taylor Dailey, Beatrice Thomas, John Blaha, III, Josephine Blaha, Julie Ann Stirrup, Jessica Stirrup all of Colonial Heights, Rachel Simmons and Harry Simmons, III of Hawaii; numerous nieces and nephews. A wake will be conducted Thursday May 19, 2005 at 7:00 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with visitation to follow. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said Friday, May 20 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Condolences may be registered at
