John Conrad Coffrin

John Conrad Coffrin, 86, of Harrisonburg Virginia, died January 28, 2019 in the Sentara RMH medical center. The son of William Earl and Alice Dae Lewis Coffrin was born April 2, 1932 in Unionville, Missouri. On January 10, 1955 he was united in marriage to Marna Lee Eckman for 41 years. He was career military for 22 years with the United States Air Force. John was a senior weapons director technician and awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal. He was the last surviving member of his special combat unit. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Dean Coffrin; wife, Marna Coffrin; and daughter, Connie Coffrin. He is survived by daughter, Sue Ann Bagnell; son, Danny Coffrin (Linda); daughter, Robin Bell (John); nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. John was an avid reader, history buff, and enjoyed his extensive classic movie collection. He was a remarkable man with quick wit, humor, and loved his family dearly. He will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 1, 2019 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
