John Earl Cozzens went to be with his Lord on February 25, 2009. He was born on December 4, 1925 and was the beloved husband of 60 years to the late Eleanor F. Cozzens. John will be forever remembered in our hearts as a wonderful husband, loving father and devoted child of God. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife Eleanor, his parents John and Aldea Cozzens and his brother Richard Cozzens. John is survived by his son, John â??Bernieâ? Cozzens and his wife, Nancy; his daughter, Donna C. Harrison; also survived by brothers and sisters, Jean Healey, Alice Morin, Robert Cozzens; six grandchildren, Stephen Garland, Philip, Kim, Kortney and Kari and six great-grandchildren, Hannah, Tristan, Ashlynne, Raelee, Anthony and Eleanor â??Ellieâ? he is also survived by his loving devoted friend Roselynn Talbott. John proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II, after leaving the Navy, John went to work for the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement. John was a devoted Christian and member of Second Presbyterian Church of Petersburg. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Graveside services will be conducted 10:00 am Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Blandford Cemetery with a 2:00 pm memorial service to follow at Second Presbyterian Church.
