John Douglas Dabney, 79, went home to be with Jesus on January 21, 2006. He was born in Amelia Co. on October 15, 1926 to Berkley Lee and Susie Cleaton Dabney and lived there his entire life. He was a lifelong farmer, who tenderly and lovingly cared for the land that God had entrusted to him. He proudly served his country as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. He retired from Reynolds Metal Co. in 1986 after 28 years of service. He was well loved and touched the lives of everyone he met. He was well known for his kindness and willingness to help anyone in need. He was a member and deacon at Living Stone Baptist Church. His faith in God was strong even to the moment Jesus called him to come home. His parents and a brother, Berkley Lee Dabney Jr., preceded him in death.
