John Daniel

John Lewis Daniel, Sr., 76, of Hopewell, died Thursday, June 26, 2008 in John Randolph Medical Center. He was born in Mecklenburg County, Virginia and had been a long time resident of Hopewell. Mr. Daniel was a retired supervisor from Hercules, Inc. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard L. Daniel, a brother, Robert Daniel, a sister, Louise Mentzer and his wife Shirley Bergh Daniel. Mr. Daniel is survived by his mother, Virginia Gill Daniel of Richmond, the mother of his children, Ann Atkinson of Varina, two daughters, Deborah D. Oâ??Day, Brenda D. Mills and her husband Ron, all of Richmond, VA, a son, John L. Daniel, Jr., and his wife Kari of Enon, five grandchildren, Alexis Gayle and her husband Martin, Summer and J.C. Daniel, Rachael and Hannah Mills, a sister, Edna Thorpe of Richmond and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 29, 2008 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A graveside service will be held Monday, June 30, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. in Bermuda Memorial Park, Chesterfield County, with the Rev. Dr. Ivan Perkinson officiating.
