John Kenneth Eanes (JK Baker), 79, of Chesterfield, VA died peacefully at his
home, November 4, 2016 after a period of declining health and brain cancer. Born to German Baker and Edith Hoyle Eanes. John was a U. S. Navy veteran, radarman 3rd class petty officer. He retired from Honeywell after 33 years. He was preceded in death by both parents, two brothers, Ronald Baker and Gary M. Eanes. John is survived by his wife of 50 years, Doris Fitts Eanes, son Kenneth Wayne Eanes, son-in-law Herman Kitchen of Emporia. Survivors also include sister-in-law Mary Lou Russell, husband Mark, of Colonial Heights, 2 brothers-in-law, Warren L. Fitts, and Robert L. Fitts, wife Nancy, of Chesterfield, and a host of nephews and nieces. He was a member of America Legion Post #284 and Ettrick Hunt Club for 44 years. John was very proud to tell people that he was born and raised in Battersea and spent his boyhood days fishing with his best friend, Samuel Ellison on the Appomattox River. He would also like to remember his friend Charles Ellison who helped ease his anxiety of death, during his illness. John also wanted to remember his good friends, Ike Williams, Mark Rutledge, and John Kennedy. John loved hunting and fishing, bluegrass music and a good wood fire more than anything else in this world. As per John's wishes, he will be cremated and laid to rest in private, in the family square in Blandford Cemetery. The family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T.
