John Goodwyn

John Sydnor Goodwyn, age 90, a life long resident of Chester, VA, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2010. He served in the Army during World War II, and was retired from DuPont. Mr. Goodwyn was also a member of the Manchester Moose Lodge #699 for many years. He is the son of the late Richard S. and Sarah Cousins Goodwyn. Mr. Goodwyn is survived by his daughters, Kathy Hall of Dinwiddie, VA, JoNell McKee and husband, Jon of Chesterfield, VA, and Judy Cates of Petersburg, VA; a twin brother, Bolling Goodwyn and wife, Mildred, of Bon Aire, VA; brother, James Goodwyn, of Midlothian, VA; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral service will take place on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to CARES, in care of, Company 1, P.O. Box 40, Fire Administration, Chesterfield, VA 23832.
