John Hawkins

John Edward Hawkins, Sr., 70, of Petersburg died Friday, June 3, 2011 at his residence. He was the son of the late Prince Albert and Elizabeth Marshall Hawkins. He was a painter for G.M. Clements for 28 years. John loved to hunt and fish, along with his CB radios, but his passion was painting. He is survived by his daughter, Linda H. Allred (Tracy) of Hopewell; nine grandchildren, Tara Bish of Petersburg, Jeremy Hawkins, Ashley Harris both of Hopewell, Savannah Williams & fiancé Zach Samples of Matoaca, Damion Tyler, McKayla Wingfield both of Hopewell, John Hawkins, III of North Carolina, and James Edwards, III of Hopewell; three brothers, Clarence Hawkins, Sr. (Pat) of Sutherland, Jackie Raymond Hawkins, Sr. (Carolyn) of South Carolina, Richard Hawkins, Sr. of Chester; great-grandchildren; Kyleigh Samples, Trenton Harris, numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T.
