John Holt

John William Holt, Jr. 76, of Colonial Heights, died Sunday, May 15, 2011. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Frances Reaves Holt. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty Laney Holt of Colonial Heights; three children, John William Holt, III and wife, Debra of Colonial Heights, Elizabeth H. Glazer and husband, Adam of Gaithersburg, MD and Dale Laney Holt and girlfriend, Dana Furman of Colonial Heights; brother-in-law, Honorable Robert D. Laney (Ret) and wife, Becky of Chesterfield Co.; cousin, Charles E. Slaughter and wife, Joyce of Chesterfield Co.; along with his special pet, Lucy. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. The family will receive friends from 6-8:30 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be private. The family would like thank Dr. Jiho Han and Dr. Bernard Wittkamp for their great medical care for Mr. Holt.
