John Wesley Hunter, 64, of Hopewell, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, May 1, 2012. He served in the U.S. Navy, and was retired from Narox after twenty-five years of service. Mr. Hunter loved gardening with his wife, fishing, and enjoying his TV. He was a wonderful person; a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. Hunter cherished his time with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Coy Hunter; and a brother, Michael Hunter. Mr. Hunter is survived by his wife, Thelma Hunter; mother, Doris Jackson; daughters, Belinda Hunter, and Kristyn Allen; two stepdaughters, Melissa Campbell, and Janice Stancil; two stepsons, Jerry Grubb, and Roger Grubb, Jr.; sister, Shirley Perkinson; brother, Ronnie Hunter; many grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other loving family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
