John "Johnnie" Edward Vanko

VANKO, John (Johnnie) Edward, 84, of Prince George, VA, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2015. Johnnie was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He had an active career as a forklift mechanic and service manager with various firms in Central VA. He was a charter member of The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Petersburg, VA. Johnnie was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Marjorie Caroline. He is survived by son, Edward Conti (Cheryl); daughter, Sherrian Conti Biggerstaff; daughter, Dianne Vanko (Doug Salvia); four grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren, as well as many other loving family members and friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 30, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 820 W Broadway Ave, Hopewell, VA. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Christian officiating.
