John Filmore Kincaid, 65, of Chester, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2012. He was retired after forty-two years of service as a mechanical engineer for DuPont formerly ICI. Mr. Kincaid was a member of New Jerusalem Fellowship where he served as a deacon, and had a great love for his church. He was a little league coach for over twenty years; he really enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Kincaid loved to spend time at the beach, traveling, and fishing. Papa was a loving husband, father, and granddad. He is preceded in death by his parents, Delmas and Ruth Anna Elkins Kincaid. Mr. Kincaid is survived by his wife, Barbara N. Kincaid; children, Shannon Kincaid, Kim Scott, and Kelly Triplett all of Chester, VA, and Steve Skidmore of Oak Hill, WV; step-sons, Terry Nester (Michelle) of Hopewell, VA, Joey Nester (Lauri) of Chester, VA, and Todd Nester of Chester, VA; eighteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Elihu Kincaid of Tucson, AZ, Michael Markle of Hagerstown, MD, and David Kincaid of Bluefield, WV; sisters, Phyllis Dilley of White Sulphur Springs, WV, and Maggie Dixon of Oak Hill, WV; ten nieces and nephews; and other loving family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday June 28, 2012 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 29, 2012 at the funeral home, with Pastor Roger Dean, Rev. Jim Hallcom, and Pastor Mac Million officiating.
