John Kraus

John Donald Kraus, age 74, of Mooresville, NC, formerly of Colonial Heights, VA, died on Sunday, May 11, 2008. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Elizabeth L. Kraus, and was preceded in death by his daughter Barbara Ann Kraus. John in survived by his sister-in-law, Kathryn Guercio and husband Mark, of Long Island, NY; brothers-in-law, Fred Klinker and wife Mary, of Mooresville, NC, and Robert Klinker and wife Judy, of Esperance, NY. John was an active volunteer with McGuire Veterans Medical Center and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving two tours during the Vietnam War. He was a member and past Post Commander of V.F.W.â??s Post #284, Jefferson Davis Highway. Mr. Kraus was also a member of the American Legion and loved fishing and woodworking. The family will receive friends at the Chesterfield Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will follow there on Thursday, May 15 at 10 a.m., with interment in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends after the funeral service at the Boulevard Flower Gardens from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2100 Ruffin Mill Road, Colonial Heights, VA, 23834.
