John Arthur Lastovica

John Arthur Lastovica, 72, of Chesterfield, VA passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023. Born in Houston, Texas he was the son of the late Walter John and Margaret Risher Lastovica; and was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Harold Kuykendall; and sisters-in-law, Lynn Lastovica and Vicky Lastovica. John faithfully served his country in the United States Navy and was stationed on the U.S.S. Forrestal. He retired from Reynolds Metals as Maintenance Planner after many years of dedicated service. After retirement, he worked at American Paper Converting as the Operations Manager. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. John will be remembered by his family as a loving and devoted husband, father and brother. Mr. Lastovica is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Margie Theresa Lastovica; one son, David John Lastovica; five siblings, Martin Lastovica (Ann), Walter Lastovica, David Lastovica (Elizabeth), Daniel Lastovica and Anna Pentecost (Timothy); numerous nieces and nephews; and his fur babies, Snowball and MewMew. A funeral service with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 8, 2023 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Massey Cancer Center, P.O. Box 980214, Richmond, VA 23298 in memory of John A. Lastovica.
