John Martin,Jr.

John Randolph Martin, Jr., 84 passed away March 26, 2012. Son of the late John Randolph and Edna Blackwell Martin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Price Martin; his daughter Linda Martin Atkins; and a brother Joe Martin. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra (Sandy) Allen, of Chesterfield, Va..; brother, William T. Martin, of Powhatan, Va.; sisters, Mary Martin and Polly Dowdy, both of Cumberland, Va.; grandchildren, Amy Owen, Brett Atkins (Marinela), Holly Trevillian (Scott), and John Allen (Chris); great grandchildren, Kensley and Kaitlyn Atkins, Cole Owen, Abigail and Aiden Trevillian and a sixth expected in late September. Several nieces and nephews; and his dearly beloved former wife, Mary Elizabeth Price, of Abingdon, Va. and her family.
John was a retired Captain of the Chesterfield County Sheriffs Department with thirteen years of service. He was a member of Kingsland Baptist Church, but in later years attended Second Branch Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, March 30, 2012 at the Chesterfield Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
