John Joseph Nichols

US Army Staff Sergeant (Retired) John J. Nichols, 96, of Chester, passed away on March 20, 2021. He was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on March 18, 1925. He is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Marion L. Nichols. John was initially posted to the 10th U.S. Calvary (Mounted), known as the Buffalo Soldiers. He served in World War II and the Korean War. John was a member of the Petersburg Chapter of the Buffalo Soldiers, and as an ordained minister, served as the unit chaplain. He was a loving and devoted husband. A memorial service will be held at Victory Tabernacle, 11700 Genito Rd, Midlothian, VA at 1 PM on April 10, 2021.
