John O'Connor

John Howard Oâ??Connor departed this life on November 14, 2011 and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Prince George. In 1953 John graduated high school in Meadow Bridge, West Virginia. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1958. He worked for Hercules Inc. in Hopewell, VA from 1959 until retiring in 1997. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Ezra Albert and Virgie Mae Oâ??Connor, brothers Charles L. and Herbert H., sisters Eula J. Wenger, Engabelle J. Livio. He is survived by his wife Miriam, son Michael W. Oâ??Connor and wife Alyce, two daughters Sandra Powell, Diane Lovelace and husband Larry, seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 18, 2011 at Faith Baptist Church in Prince George, VA. Interment will occur at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Richmond, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the building fund at Faith Baptist Church, Middle Road.
