Our Lord called His servant, John P. Pedersen, to His home in glory on Wednesday, April 18, 2012. John was born in New York on August 28, 1931 and moved to Prince George, VA in January 2003. John leaves behind his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Florence Dingman Pedersen. Also, left behind to cherish their memories, are his daughter, Karen Donivan and her husband, Jim; and sons, Charles and his wife Paula, John and his wife Laura, and Wayne and his wife Laura. Preceding him in his eternal home is his 12 year old son, Mark Pedersen. John was blessed with twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Anita Buer and Jean Wamnus. Three sisters and one brother preceded him in death also. In 1951-1955, John served in the Navy during the Korean War. John loved his profession as a carpenter and whenever he could he was always helping others. Additionally, his love for the Lord included serving at his church, Salem United Methodist Church in Burrowsville. One of his favorite past-times was fishing and being a member of the Burrowsville Ruritans Club. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A Service of Celebration will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Salem United Methodist Church in Burrowsville, with the Rev. Beverly Nelan officiating.
