John Stables

John Winn Stables, 78, of Hopewell, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2010. Mr. Stables served in the U. S. Navy, was the owner of Stables Auto Sales and was a Deacon of Broadway Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin P. and Gertrude Winn Stables. Surviving are his wife, Bertha Stables ; children, Danny Ray Stables & wife, Holly, Debra S. Overman & husband, Mark; grandchildren, Jeffrey J. Stables & wife, Stephanie, Bret T. Overman and Megan E. Overman; great-grandchildren, Gillian Bree Stables and Haley Rae Stables, numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members. The family will receive friends Friday, August 13, 2010 in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 1:00PM in the Hopewell chapel with Dr. James Maggard, pastor of Broadway Baptist Church and Rev. Jerry Davis, officiating. Interment will follow in Merchants Hope Memorial Garden.
