John Franklin Talbott, 57, of Dinwiddie, passed away peacefully in his home, early Friday morning, July 29, 2016. John was a proud “Paw Paw” to his grandchildren, Alex and Emma. He was always able to make them smile and loved watching them grow and learn. Although the effects of his illness was sometimes great, John put all of his love and energy into his grandchildren, giving them fond memories that will be forever cherished. We will always remember John playing cars with his grandson and surprising us all when he rode down a slide just for Alex; his constant reminders of love to his daughters to, “check the oil,” just one more time and long discussions of history and politics with his son-in-law. John shared with us his love of nature and animals. He also enjoyed gardening and cooking. His words of advice and knowledge will be shared for generations to come and we will hold all memories close to our hearts. For my husband, I will always treasure the quite moments between “my honeyman and I” and the love that did not always have to be spoken. Rest in peace in our Father’s house. We love you always. John was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Aubyn and Martha Wall Talbott. He is survived by his wife, Linda Mayer Talbott; daughter, Sarah Camille Doughty and husband, Jacob, and their children, Alexander Rylan and Emmalyn Rose Doughty; and daughter, Elizabeth Lynn Grogan and husband, John; sister, Amanda Talbott Veilleux, and husband, Leon; aunt, Rachel Wall Jackson; and a handful of nieces, nephews and cousins.
