John Thompson

John David Thompson, 57, of Hopewell, died Wednesday, April 19 2006. He was born in Smyth County, Virginia. Mr. Thompson was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the U. S. Navy and was a self-employed Plumber. Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Melissa Nichols Thompson and his wife, Brigitte Inga Thompson. Surviving are his two daughters, Tracy L. McLellan and husband Marty McLellan II, and Kimberly Ann Nix and husband Michael Nix all of Midlothian, his grandchildren, Justin, Trey, Destiny, and Michael, his father, Everett Lee Thompson of Tennessee, brothers, Robert William Thompson of Tennessee, and Marvin Lee Thompson of Ashland. The family will receive friends Friday, April 21, 2006 from 6-8:30 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 22, 2006 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Troy Kaichen, officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, Va.
