JOHN L. WEBSTER, 91, a former resident of Richmond, Virginia, passed away at
his home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Born in Harrold, South Dakota, he was the
son of the late John C. Webster and Florence Judd Webster. Mr. Webster had
retired as a Research Engineer with Reynolds Metals Company in Richmond,
Virginia. He was a member of Tuckahoe Presbyterian Church, was a member of Robinson Lodge AF&AM #266 in Louisville, Kentucky, and a member of Mensa. He had a passion for scuba diving, volunteering with the American Red Cross, and his hobbies included bridge, golf, bowling, and dancing.
He was predeceased by his wife, Ardella Brown Webster; his son, John L.
Webster, Jr., his stepson Bryan Nemitz, and a brother, Harry V. Webster.
He is survived by his stepsons, Bryce Nemitz and wife, Shelly, Bruce Nemitz,
and a stepdaughter, Missy Ross; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at Westhampton Memorial Park, Richmond, Virginia, on June 21, 2006 at 12:30 p.m. with the Rev. Larry Hayward officiating. Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, is in charge of arrangements.
