John Clifton Williams Sr.

John Clifton Williams, Sr. 73 of Hopewell passed away peacefully at home, Wednesday, May 10, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Helen Williams, a sister, Mabel Williams Thompson; and two brothers, Billy and Edward Williams. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 33 years, Ruth Williams. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his children, Cherie Williams Hazzard, and Brian Hazzard, Jennifer Washburn, Melanie and William Johnson, John Williams, Jr., and Carl Swanson; grandchildren, Kevin Hazzard, Emile Williams, William and Joshua Johnson, and Lindsay Swanson; as well as numerous extended family and friends. John loved fishing and traveling before his illness. The family will receive friends, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 12, 2017 at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home 820 W. Broadway, Hopewell, VA. A private mausoleum entombment will take place in Southlawn Memorial Park. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all the staff of Crater Community Hospice 3916 S.
