John Robert Wilson

John Robert Wilson, 68, of Chesterfield, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2016. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Robert Wesley Wilson and Helen Holmes Rowlett. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Floyd Benjamin Rowlett. John retired from J.C. Penny’s after 23 years of service. He was currently employed with Staples Automotive and was the proud owner and operator of B & L Contractors. John is survived by his one true love and wife of 50 years, Lou Wilson; children, Robert Wesley Wilson (Lori), Michael Wayne Wilson (Dene), Helen Suzanne Avery (Jamie), Charles Michael Wilson, and Tina Aird Raycroft (Brad); grandchildren, Cody Wilson, Bailey Wilson, Lani Avery, and Landon Avery; sister, Shelby Wilson King (Bob), cousin, Dana Ethridge, who was like a brother to John; numerous extended family; and dearest friends, Rosa and Harper Cole, and Judy and Wayne Cole. A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral home. The family will receive friends following the service until 8:00 p.m. Interment will be private. Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be donated to the American Diabetes Association.
