John Woods

John Melvin Woods, 81, of Chester, Virginia, died Friday December 19, 2008. He was predeceased by his wife, Lois Hutchinson Woods and his parents Charles Fenton & Mary Pritchard Woods. Mr. Woods was a veteran of the United States Navy and proudly served his country as a Fireman First Class during WWII and the Korean War, after completion of his tour with the Navy he was employed by Honeywell, formerly Allied Chemical, as a Painter , Boiler Tender, and a Water Treatment Operator, retiring after 34 ½ years of dedicated service. He is survived by his sons: Michael â??Mikeâ? Dean Woods, John Keith Woods & wife, Lynda Jayne, grandson: John Alexander â??Alexâ? Woods, brother: Frank Allen Woods, and a sister Mary Woods Simpson. The family will receive friends at the Chester Chapel of J.T.Morriss & Son Funeral Home Monday December 22, 2008 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A funeral service will be held following the visitation.
