England, Johnie "Dennis", 80, of Chester, passed away on July 10, 2023. He was born on July 3, 1943, to Marcus and Jennie England in Yancey County, North Carolina. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, as well as 2 sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sandra Shields England; son, Matt England (Liz); daughter, Kimberly Assenmacher (Dre); and grandchildren Andrew, Joe, and Sally England and Chase, Addison, and Cole Assenmacher.
Dennis served in the Air Force for 4 years and was a member of the American Legion for 30 years, serving Post #284 and was a long time employee and retiree of Xerox Corporation. He loved fishing and working on projects around the house. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A private service will be held followed by interment at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia in late 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
