Johnnie Allen Ain

Johnnie Allen Drain, 88, of Hopewell, VA, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021. Born in Rockbridge County, VA, he was the son of the late Gillie Drain and Clara Kirby Drain. He was also preceded in death by brothers, David Drain and Edward Drain.
Johnnie spent his career as a union carpenter, retiring after many years. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting. He especially loved tending to his garden and watching westerns on the television. He is loved by his family and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Marietta Drain; children, Charlene West (Paul), Elizabeth Walker (Mike), Ray Drain (Mary), and Tina Dillenbeck; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Robert Drain.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service until 8:00 p.m. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
