Joseph Gilbert Charboneau

September 9, 1924 — October 6, 2013

Joseph Gilbert Charboneau, 89, of Dinwiddie County, passed away Sunday, October 06, 2013. Mr. Charboneau served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and participated in the Battle of Anzio, Italy. He was the owner and operator of Charboneau’s Garage for 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Louis and Marie Proteau Charboneau and a grandson, Sammy Winn. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Edith Charboneau; daughter, Marsha Charboneau-Richardson and husband, Jim; sons, Robert A. Charboneau and wife, Kathi, and John R. Charboneau and wife, Paula, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 12th at Smyrna Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Rowland officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dinwiddie Volunteer Fire Department, P. O. Box 181, Dinwiddie, VA 23841. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
