Joseph "Dickie" Richard Dance

Joseph “Dickie” Richard Dance, 64, of Petersburg, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Wesley Sr., and Violet Newton Dance; sister, Verdie Ann Dance; and daughter, Teresa Dance Tuck. Dickie will always be remembered as a tough man and as a well-known legend in the local Petersburg area. He is survived by his brothers, Herbert W. Dance Jr., and wife Kitty and William A. Dance and wife Sophie; daughter, Dawn M. Edwards; son, Joseph R. Dance Jr.; granddaughters, Ellie J. and Reese E. Tuck; step-sister, Denise; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A funeral service will be held at the chapel on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. Burial will be private.
