Joseph Wesley Hanzlik

Joseph Wesley Hanzlik, 91, of Waverly, passed away Saturday, September 02, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley H. and Emily Glazier Hanzlik; wife, Margaret Sebera Hanzlik; daughter, Judy Cole; infant son, James Joseph Hanzlik; grandson, Brandon Hanzlik; and daughter-in-law, Catherine Hanzlik. Mr. Hanzlik was a past board member of the Prince George Farm Bureau and the Prince George Fire Insurance Company. He was a life-time member of Church of the Sacred Heart Parish. He had a love for farming, hunting and fishing throughout his life. He is survived by his daughter, JoAnn Wellman (Robert); two sons, Joseph J. Hanzlik and James N. Hanzlik (Pam); ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; special friend, Ann Glazier; and his team of caregivers, Carol Evans, Evendia Bailey, Alberta Chalmers and Nikki Edwards. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Church of the Sacred Heart Parish, 9300 Community Lane, S. Prince George, VA 23805. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Church of the Sacred Heart Building Fund or to Tidewater Academy Memorial Fund, 217 West Church St., Wakefield, VA 23888.
