Joseph J. Hanzlik, 75, of Prince George, Virginia, was surrounded by his loving family as he was united with his Eternal Father on March 27, 2025. Born in Petersburg, VA, he was the son of the late Joseph Wesley and Margaret Sebera Hanzlik. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of forty-one years, Catherine Ann; he was also preceded in death by his two siblings, Judy Cole and "Jimmy Joe"; as well as a granddaughter, Coralynn Smith.
Joseph faithfully served his country in the United State Army Reserves, had retired from DuPont after many years of dedicated service, and was a member of Rivers Edge Bible Church. He found joy in passions such as gardening, fishing, and making memories with his grandchildren. He will be remembered by his family as a loving and devoted father, PaPa, brother and uncle.
Mr. Hanzlik is survived by his children, Amy Voelzke (Will), Matthew Hanzlik (Christy), Laura Smith (Barry), and Emily Hatton (Cory); seven grandchildren, Joseph Grayson, Kyla (Josh), Aidan, Davis, Anna, Kyndra, and Catherine; a bonus grandchild, Barry III; two siblings, JoAnn Wellman (Bob) and Jimmy Hanzlik (Pam); sister-in-law, Janet Santerre (Keith); brother-in-law, Stephen McLeod (Mary); and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to welcome you for a graveside service on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, Hopewell, VA, at 2:00p.m.
